Alpha Alumnae Song |

|
Song Notes: This song was discovered in the 1915 Arethusa Convocation Program and sung to the music of the “Battle Cry of Freedom”, written by George F. Root in 1862. |
|
Let us sing a jolly song, girls. Come sing with might and main, Shouting , “Hurrah for Arethusa.” Let us rouse the sleeping ‘lumnae Their laurels to regain, Shouting, “Hurrah for Arethusa.”
Chorus— Hurrah for the fountain and foam, White and Green! Hurrah for the fairest of nymphs ever Seen! We are loyal to her memory and when We all convene, Shout loud, “Hurrah for Arethusa.”
For the past we will not pine, But in draught more clear than wine Caught from the spray of Arethusa, Let us drink your health and mine, And success in every line, In days to come for dear old Arethusa! |
