Arethusa Convocation 2004 at Oneonta |

|
“The 2004 Arethusa convocation was held at SUNY Oneonta on February 7th. Over 50 Sisters dressed in green and white came from the chapters, some even with alumnae. Deltas were out in full force, excited to greet the other chapters. Two Iotas came to represent and we loved meeting them; sad saying goodbye at the end of the day. Kappas came in their usual cheerful way and greeted everyone with hugs and smiles. Special recognition must be given to the Geneseo sisters. Despite a car accident and arriving toward the end of the convocation, they endured and everyone was thrilled to meet them. This was the first time in my 12 years in Arethusa that sisters from each active chapter were represented. It was magical! After a while, you could not tell who belonged to which chapter. Sisters shared stories, had lunch together, took pictures, and sang songs. We laughed, cried when we had to leave, made promises to keep in touch, and enjoyed being a member of such a wonderful organization. There was truly a sense of togetherness and unity in vision. Some new ideas went back to each chapter, which I hope served them well until the next time we meet.” - Fountain Newsletter Spring 2004 None of this could have been possible without the time, efforts, and dedication of the sisters in attendance, sisters of the Delta Chapter, and especially Delta President, Corinne West. |
